To be “Crystal” clear…
Well friends and family of “Captured… Photography by Crystal”, it has, unfortunately, come to our attention that there is another photographer in town with a very similar name, “Captured Memories by Crystal”. As those closest to me know, I have been dreaming of this name for a photography business since I was a little girl. I went through all of the correct channels, city and state licensing, to make sure that there were no other businesses in town with the same name. Also, when purchasing the domain for the website and purchasing a copyright, all came back clear. Unfortunately, with all of these searches, we were unaware there was someone “similar” in town. We are currently toying with the idea of changing the name to avoid possible confusion between clients, but at this point I do not have the resources to start an already brand new business from scratch. In doing further research by searching search engines like Google and MSN, we have found that there are not just two, but at least four photography businesses in Spokane with “Captured” in the name. Followers of the other Crystal’s Facebook page are hinting at the fact that I “copied” the idea for the business name. I cannot express enough that that could not be farther from the truth and it saddens me that anyone would think so. I am committed to an honest and ethical business as photography is more than just a “business” to me. It is, and always has been, one of the most important aspects of my life and I would never compromise that. I will do all in my power to make sure that there is no “client confusion” and I am extremely excited to be a part of an enormous community of professional photographers in the Spokane area. To help cut down on confusion, her name is Crystal Madsen @ capturedmemoriesbycrystal.com and, from what I have seen, truly takes some beautiful photos. I hope that anyone who has a need for amazing photography will choose a photographer based on who will fit their need the most. Again, thank you all who have come to me so far and let me capture your special moments. I am sincerely honored and consider you all family. I can only hope that this “family” will continue to grow!
